Karen Hillard Good
Karen was born and raised in the heart of
the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania
where she still finds inspiration for her
distinctive artwork featuring traditional
American Folk Art motifs with a touch of
modern whimsy. In more recent years, Karen
hangs her hats in Illinois and Wisconsin.
"My purest joys are family, friends,
listening to good music and painting
pictures," she says, with a smile as
enchanting as her artwork.
2002 and 2003 have been busy years for
Karen. Besides getting married (see her note
below), she also designed the delightful
Homestead Pottery Collection; created a
brand new Collection entitled Ordinary Women
filled with a whole slew of most charming
characters; and has recently begun work on a
very exciting project to be released next
year.
Stay tuned for updates! And in the meantime,
enjoy Karen's celebrated artwork. It's sure
to but a grin on your face.
A Special Note from Karen:
Hello, everyone!
Wow! So much has happened since I spoke with
you last! First, I have met an incredible
man and we are now married! His name is Bob
Good and he absolutely lives up to his name!
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily . . life
is but a dream. Bob G. has a passion for
alpine skiing and snowboarding.
I always have to make mention of my family.
My mother and father, Gail and Don Hillard,
have given me my spirit and a wonderful
foundation which gave me the freedom to
grow. My three super kids. . .Dustin, Kelly
and Deidre. They make me so proud, I could
burst! To my grandsons, Logan and Lee. Those
little thieves, they stole my heart! And
last, but not least, my sister Becky and her
family. I love you all so much!
My friends . . . I don't even know where to
begin. I have had the good fortune to be
surrounded by a quite colorful group of
friends who inspire me always. I don't dare
begin to list their names because I would
feel awful if I accidentally left someone
out. So, all I can say is that I'm sure I
have the best friends any girl could ever
ask for. Thanks to all of you..
Anyway, life couldn't be better (actually, a
tropical island wouldn't be half bad!) and I
want to thank all of you who have taken an
interest in my work.
Best wishes and happy dreams,
Karen Hillard Good
